Smithtown wildlife control tip of the month:
Hi David, My family moved into our home in September of 2012. We did have a home inspection done, however, we felt
it left much to be desired and he did miss several things. My sons Smithtown animal control bedroom is upstairs, and during our first winter
there we would often hear rustling noises in the walls of his room toward evening when we were putting him to bed.
In early Spring we came home to 2 bats inside the house. We caught them Smithtown animal control with a net and got them out of the house.
We didn't think too much about it at the time...we assumed they came in through one of our doors as we were coming or
going. Toward the end of summer we came home to another bat in theSmithtown pest control house (around end of July beginning of August).
At this point we called a local wildlife specialist who specializes in bat exclusions. He inspected the inside and
outside of the home for $200. After confirming bat activity with Smithtown pest control trail cams and guano droppings he scheduled an
exclusion which he began during the second half of August. He had set up trail cams at suspicious sites outside
the home. He never actually recorded any bats coming or Smithtown wildlife removal going with the trail cam. At the most obvious site he
did record a squirrel come and then go. He found hair tufts on that entry/exit point, which he assumed was actually
from a bat. He spent a couple of hours detecting and Smithtown wildlife removal closing up all other entry/exit points that he found on the house.
One evening he had me and a couple of his guys stand on all 4 corners of the house to see if we could see visibly where
the bats were actually coming in & out. No one ever saw a single bat come or Smithtown animal trapping go. At this point he decided to go ahead
and assume that the squirrels entrance must be the location and that the bats just didn't go out that particular night.
The exclusion process began and he left his trail cams in the attic area where he Smithtown animal trapping had recorded them prior. He checked them
daily. Once he saw no activity on the trail cam for 3 days he said that we were free and clear and all the bats had left.
During the exclusion process he also installed a Bat House on our back yard Smithtown exterminator tree. He told me to call after the first frost
and he would come and take it down. It cost us a total of $800. He said he discounted 2 of the exclusion days and of course
we did appreciate that. But at the same time we did expect that the bats Smithtown exterminator stay out. He however does not offer any sort of guarantee.
